Over ten years ago, I started my college education at South Puget Sound Community College as a first generation college student. I understand how scary college can be, but I also learned how education is the key to better opportunities for your future. SPSCC prepared me to be successful at The Evergreen State College and helped me earn my Bachelor’s Degree. At Evergreen, I studied education and social justice as well as spending several quarters doing independent study with a local LGBTQ+ non-profit. My professional career has been focused on supporting people with worker-retraining and mental health support, as well as some time spent in the local beer brewing industry. It feels wonderful to be back at SPSCC, and my goal is to help students feel empowered to pursue their educational goals.
