Ross Artwohl

Ross Artwohl received his Master of Social Work from Colorado State University and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State.  The LICSW is the top tier of licensure for the profession and signifies expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional and mental disorders based on advanced knowledge of human development, the causation and treatment of psychopathology and psychotherapeutic treatment practices.  Ross has practiced as a college counseling center therapist since 2000 at University of Denver, Oregon State University and the University of California at Berkeley.  He began work at SPSCC in 2019 and is thrilled to be part of a team so dedicated to student success:  academic, social and emotional.  Students most appreciate that Ross’ therapy is tailored to their unique needs and preferences, a “custom” approach rather than "one-size-fits-all."  Ross is a generalist meaning that he treats the variety of mental, emotional and behavioral struggles that students face.  Most commonly these are anxiety (including PTSD), depression and relationship difficulties.  He specializes in work with couples/sex therapy supported by extensive post-graduate training.  Ross is also passionate about cultural competence and has taught extensively on the provision of gender-aware therapy to those identifying as male.  Ross loves spending time running and hiking with his wife Andrea and his two dogs Ollie and Nari.
