I have been trained in the Appreciative Advising Model, a student centered approach to advising. Appreciative Advising focuses on relationship building with the student and is the intentional collaborative practice of building rapport by asking positive, open-ended questions. This helps the student to optimize their educational experiences and achieve their dreams, goals, and potentials.
Hello! I began my employment with South Puget Sound Community College in January 1996 working as a Program Coordinator in the Financial Aid Office. In January 2006 I transitioned into the Advising Center as an Educational Planner and worked at both the Hawks Prairie Campus and then later, the Lacey Campus. In August 2023 I moved to the Olympia Campus, where I currently work. I earned my Associate in Arts degree from South Puget Sound Community College and went on to earn my Bachelor’s Degree from Washington State University.
